Greenways for Nashville facilitates several volunteer driven cleanups each year. Want to schedule your own greenway cleanup? There are forms involved, but we promise it’s a fairly painless process. Contact us to learn about upcoming cleanups or get the ball rolling on scheduling your own.
Events and Committees
Anyone interested is welcome to get involved in Greenways for Nashville’s various working committees including Fundraising, Membership, and Special Events. The committees perform a lot of rewarding hands-on activities. Contact Emmie to discuss the role you would like to play.
The Fundraising Committee focuses on funding sources – public, private, and non-profit — for land acquisition and greenway development.
The Special Events Committee organizes GFN membership activities like informational days, members’ events, parties or hikes, and ground-breakings as well as annual events such as Dinner on the Bridge and the Richland Creek Run.
There are also citizen groups that have formed groups to support specific greenway projects. These include the Friends of Beaman Park, the Bordeaux/Whites Creek Greenway Alliance, Friends of Shelby Park and Bottoms, and Friends of Mill Creek Greenway, Mill Creek Park Section. For information on joining any of the groups mentioned above, click on the links or contact the parks office at 862-8400.
