Be a Greenways Connector

Represent your local greenway as an advisor

Apply to be a Greenways Connector, representing your "home" greenway segment.
Selected applicants will help guide Greenways for Nashville's future programming.

Connect with fellow neighbors and community members during a series of five collaborative listening and brainstorming sessions during the spring: Tuesday evenings March 31-April 28.

Meetings will be centered in joy and connectivity, and filled with conversation, fun, and food!

Deadline to apply: Friday, March 13! Five sessions will take place on Tuesday evenings -- March 31, April 4,April 14, April 21, and April 28-- always 5:30-7:30pm and always with food provided, but at various community sites in different areas of the city. (Locations to be announced.) Participants may choose to attend an optional celebration on Saturday, May 9 from 11:30am-1:30pm (details and location to be announced). All selected Connectors will be provided with a small stipend ($250 total) following their successful participation in the sessions. This stipend is intended to honor participants’ time and expertise, and help cover any childcare and/or transportation costs that may be incurred.

  • Champions for connectivity who are ready to get to know new people and brainstorm
    Greenways for Nashville will

select and convene 17 Connectors, who represent all the major current greenways. This group will serve as our Advisory Network, guiding our decision-making, future events and opportunities, and ongoing programming.

  • Crooked Branch Greenway (Old Hickory)
  • Peeler Park Greenway (Madison)
  • Shelby Bottoms Greenway (East Nashville)
  • Stones River Greenway (Donelson)
  • Whites Creek Greenway at Fontanel (Whites Creek)
  • Whites Creek Greenway by Hartman Park (Bordeaux)
  • Bells Bend Greenway (Bells Bend)
  • Cumberland River Greenway at TSU Connector (North Nashville)
  • Cumberland River Greenway at Boyd-Taylor Park (North Nashville)
  • Rolling Mill Hill Greenway and Gulch Greenway (Downtown/South Broadway/Gulch)
  • Richland Creek Greenway at West Park and England Park (The Nations)
  • Richland Creek Greenway at McCabe Community Center and 440 Greenway at Elmington Park (Sylvan Park)
  • Harpeth River Greenway (Bellevue/Warner Park)
  • Mill Creek Greenway at Mill Creek Park, Blue Hole Park, and Ezell Park (Antioch)
  • Mill Creek Greenway at Whitsett Park (Glencliff)
  • Seven Mile Creek Greenway (Crieve Hall)
  • Browns Creek Greenway at Sevier Park and the Fairgrounds (South Nashville).
What are the expectations of participants?
  • Commit to attending all 5 Tuesday evening sessions
  • Bring an open mind and your ideas
  • Be ready to meet and talk with new people
What is the process and timeline for selection?
  • Apply by Friday, March 13
  • Selected participants will be asked to schedule a 15-minute call with Greenways for Nashville staff between March 13-March 20, so that staff can share information about the upcoming sessions and answer any questions you might have
  • Sessions are on Tuesday evenings from 5:30-7:30pm, from March 31-April 28
How will the sessions be structured?
  • These are NOT lectures led by staff – instead, meetings will be facilitated for small-group and full-group conversations
  • Expect lots of brainstorming, working in small groups and then sharing out to the full group, and moving around the room to different stations

  • Raise awareness of ALL of Nashville’s current greenways segments, and introduce the entire system to our participants
